Schools That Cut the Mustard | Resources To Answer Your Questions About Area Schools…

busAs a real estate professional I get a lot of questions about the school systems. If you have recently worked with a Realtor and asked them about the local schools and they didn’t seem to really answer your question (s), there is a reason for that.

A licensed agent should not give their opinion on local school systems due to fair housing laws. However there are some great resources out there to help educate you and answer your questions.

All information below was gathered from outside resources and is not a reflection of my opinion of any one area or school.

Top 10 VA Schools All Located In Fairfax County

  2. George Mason High School
  3. James Madison High School
  4. Langley High School
  5. Oakton High School
  6. McLean High School
  7. W.T. Woodson High School
  8. Yorktown High School
  9. West Springfield High School
  10. George C. Marshall High School

Fairfax County’s own Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology is the fourth-best high school in the nation, according to 2014 rankings by U.S. News & World Report.

The Washington Post listed the top 2,093 high schools in America based on the Challenge Index criteria. These schools comprise the top 9 percent of the nation’s 22,000 public high schools. All LCPS high schools fell within the top 5 percent of America’s high schools in this order:

  4. Tuscarora (352)
  5. Dominion (423)
